Wild Marshland – 36x36x2 inches oil on heavyweight canvas.
As a young boy, I would help my uncles bring home the turf from the bog in County Offaly, first, it was cut and stacked to dry, then gathered and stacked for winter fuel. The sky against the soft mossy ground was always dramatic. My memories of time around the bog are still fresh, and one of the reasons I think I am drawn to the wildness of Southern marshlands.
