“The Scullery of Humanity – Early Effigies Sifted”
86.5x58x3 inches, oil, and mixed media on canvas over cradled wood panel.
Early effigies sifted, taken from my poem, are memories reflected in mark-making and painting. The poem was written during the height of the pandemic, Black Lives Matter protests, police shootings, and fraught public discourse. The scullery was an important almost sacred place on the farm, I use my memory of this as an emblem in the poem.
Based on the poem “The Scullery of Humanity”
