“Early Effigies Sifted” – Poetry Series, 48″ x 48″ x 2″ oil over mixed media on canvas.
The title “Early Effigies Sifted” is from a stanza in my poem The Scullery, a metaphor for the mind and how deep memories are heightened in isolation providing a coping mechanism in times of uncertainty.
“In isolation without ending deep memories
Revealed, early effigies sifted, through the
Contours of cathartic retrospection”
Through this body of work, the lines of expression are blurred, painting, gestures, and mark-making become entwined with writing.
