“Rooks Murmured ” – 48″ x 60″ x 2″ acrylic on stretched canvas.
Decades ago, I owned an old forge, circa 1900, in Ireland, and converted the cottage to our home. At the end of our land, we had a stand of tall trees, home to a colony of rooks, I can still hear them when I think back to those days. The poem “Rooks Murmuring” is a recollection of that time and imagining when it was an operating forge as the rooks were a constant presence.
