Ink-blue-black bawn – 40″ x 40″ x 2″ mixed media on canvas. Based on the Poem “Rooks Murmuring”
Decades ago, I owned an old forge, circa 1900, in Ireland, and converted the cottage to our home. At the end of our land, we had a stand of tall trees, home to a colony of rooks, I can still hear them when I think back to those days. The poem is a recollection of that time and imagining when it was an operating forge as the rooks were a constant presence.
