Summerhill I – 40 x 40in – Mixed media on gallery wrap canvas. Based on my Poem “Summerhill”.
This is the start of the “Summerhill Series” of paintings based on memories of my childhood summers at my grandparent’s farm, “Summerhill”. A beautiful setting in the rolling hills on the border of counties Tipperary and Offaly, Ireland, it was a working traditional farm and a throwback to nineteenth-century living. The visual narrative, imagery, and icons used are extracted from my poem of the same name.
