“Wayfinding” 84″x72′, oil on canvas. Based on my poem “Wayfinding”, and the title of my solo exhibition opening January 7th, 2023 at Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. The exhibit will run from January 7th to March 12th, 2023.
About the poem:
The poem opens with the mysterious fog weaving its unseeable spell, a metaphor for emotions, and feelings of isolation and uncertainty. The reliance upon spiritual awareness and wonderment of mortality that many confronted during the pandemic. Wayfinding is essentially about the necessity for stillness. Creating quiet moments of reflection with intentionality, listening to the imagination and the boundless nourishment that nature provides. It’s a prayer of sorts, exploring the inner landscape to discover deeper understanding, wayfinding to growth, and authenticity within the space between ourselves and the natural world.
